Lifting the spirits of ill children and their families through entertainment, support, and family activities.

OUR MISSION

INVOLVEMENT

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

STORY HOURS

Ballard House

Story hours is an opportunity for our members to travel to various hospitals - such as Texas Children's, Shriners, MD Anderson, and McLane - and read stories, perform skits, play games, or do crafts with the children.

TEXAS CHARGERS

RETREAT

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB

The annual Texas Chargers Retreat supports families touched by CHARGE syndrome, allowing them to connect with one another. Our members spend the day participating and volunteering at the retreat.

Boys and Girls club is an after school program in Bryan, Texas. We as members get to join the children during their after school activities.

CAMP FOR ALL

Our members volunteer at this unique, barrier-free camp, working to enrich the lives of children and adults of all ages with challenging illnesses, diseases, or disabilities.

CRAFTS FOR THE HOSPITALS

Throughout the semester, Starlight members meet to make crafts such as blankets, gift baskets, and games to donate to the hospitals. This includes Jared Boxes, which are care packages filled with toys other gifts for the kids!

The Ballard House is a living community that provides temporary housing for individuals and their families who are hospitalized or receiving treatment for a serious medical condition.

OUR
STORY

IMG_8439_edited.png

Starlight Aggies is a student led organization at Texas A&M University, dedicated to lifting the spirits of ill children and their families through entertainment, support, and family activities. Our organization originated on campus in 2010, and has made many improvements throughout the years in expanding our service projects to those who live in the Bryan/College Station community.

As members of starlight, we strive to serve the community around us. Some of the ways in which this is possible is volunteering at local hospitals, after school programs, non profit NICU organizations, summer camps, and many more. Starlight offers Aggies not only unity, selfless service, and cherish-able memories, but a family. We work as a whole to give back to the children, their families, and touch the lives of those in the community surrounding us.

ABOUT
LITTLE MONSTERS 5K/3K

COLOR RUN FOR ALL

IMG_8272.JPG

In the past, Starlight Aggies has organized the Little Monsters Fun & Angel Baby Butterfly Release for Preemie Prints, a local nonprofit. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to change our fundraiser entirely. We thank Preemie Prints for allowing us to work with them the past few years and wish them the best!

Starlight Aggies have partnered with Camp For All to create a new fun run, the Color Run For All. This event will raise money for Camp For All, a unique, barrier-free camp working in partnership with other not-for-profit organizations to enrich the lives of children and adults with challenging illnesses or special needs and their families throughout the year. Our members have enjoyed volunteering with Camp For All for the past few years, and we are excited about the opportunity to help them raise money to continue their amazing program!

Stay tuned for more information regarding a Fun Run/5K this Spring 2022 semester!
